Let's walk Helsinki with Arvind and Sami (part 1, English)
I took Arvind to walk around in Hietalahti and Ruoholahti for his Instagram Live series “Let’s walk Helsinki!” in which he invites local electees from the Left alliance to pick spots for a walking tour.
We discuss my themes in these elections and how they show up during the walk:
- use of space at Hietalahti market hall
- three lanes for cars at Lönnrotinkatu
- traffic safety at Hietalahdenkatu
- poor construction management at Jätkäsaarensilta (Jätkäsaari bridge)
- putting pedestrians and cyclists against each other, when the attention should be put towards taking space from cars.
